Our Roots
Formerly known as Advanced Improvements, Advanced Group, LLC was founded in 2002 in Eastern Connecticut. Our focus has always been on delivering excellence in construction services, specializing in new home construction, residential and commercial remodeling, and renovation work. Our founder, David Preka, started with a small crew and a vision to transform spaces and exceed expectations.
A Solid Foundation
Our initial focus was on residential renovations and remodeling, quickly earning a reputation for meticulous craftsmanship and unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction. Over time, we expanded our projects and team size, growing into full-scale new construction, large commercial projects, and transformative remodeling ventures.
Owner and Hands-On Leader: David Preka
David Preka, an international entrepreneur who speaks five languages, founded Advanced Group. Under his leadership, the company has grown to be a leading general contractor in Southeastern Connecticut. David is actively involved in various community organizations and continues to see great success and growth.

Most recently the business was recognized by the prestigious HOBI awards in the category of New Custom Home Built Under 3,000 square feet. In 2018, Advanced Group was nationally ranked for the sixth year in a row in the Top 500 Qualified Remodelers. It was named the BAEC Remodeler of the Year in 2013 and named to the 2014 Pulse of the City News Award and Exterior 200 Home Improvements Biggest Firms.
In the past, the business placed first in the Best of Reader’s Choice Awards of Roofing Magazine for Home Builder/Contractor as well as Roofing and Interior & Exterior Painting Sections, and has received recognition for 10 years by the Better Business Bureau.
